Random Name Picker
Type names, press a button and pick winners, set an order or split into teams fairly.
About the Random Name Picker
Type one name per line (or separate with commas) and choose a mode. 'Pick' draws the number of people you set, 'Shuffle' puts the whole list in random order and 'Teams' splits everyone into the number of teams you choose as evenly as possible. Each press gives a new result.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really fair?
Names are shuffled with your browser's secure random generator, so no name has an advantage. If you type the same name several times it is more likely to be picked.
How are teams divided?
The list is shuffled and people are dealt to the teams one at a time. If the numbers do not divide evenly, teams differ by at most one person.
Can I draw again if I do not like the result?
Pressing the button again gives a new draw. To stay fair, decide how many times you will draw before you start.
Is what I enter stored on a server?
No. Everything is calculated inside your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to or stored on any server.
