Korean Keyboard Converter

Fix text typed with the wrong keyboard layout: English letters to Hangul, or Hangul to English keys.

About the Korean Keyboard Converter

If you type in English mode while you meant Korean (or the other way around), you get gibberish like dkssudgktpdy. Paste it in the top box and this tool converts it using the standard Korean 2-set (dubeolsik) layout: 'dkssudgktpdy' becomes '안녕하세요' and '한글' becomes 'gksrmf'. It is also handy for learners who want to know which English keys produce a Korean word.

Frequently asked questions

Which keyboard layout does it use?

The standard Korean 2-set (dubeolsik) layout used on almost all Korean keyboards. 3-set layouts are not supported.

How do I type double consonants and compound vowels?

Double consonants (ㅃ ㅉ ㄸ ㄲ ㅆ) and ㅒ, ㅖ come from Shift plus Q W E R T O P. Compound vowels such as ㅘ (hk) and ㅝ (nj) are combined automatically when typed in order.

What about mixed English text?

In English-to-Hangul mode only letters are converted. Numbers, spaces and punctuation stay as they are.

The final consonant moves to the next syllable.

In Hangul a final consonant moves to the next syllable when a vowel follows: 'rkrk' becomes 가가 rather than 각ㅏ. This matches the way a real Korean input method behaves.
