About the ArriveBy Korea

How to use it

  1. Choose the departure and arrival cities. There is also a ๐Ÿ“ My location button.
  2. Choose the time basis: Leave now, Departure time or Arrival time.
  3. Press Find route. The travel time is shown as a range.

What it compares

  • Trains (KTX, SRT, ITX, regular trains) and the airport railroad
  • Express and intercity buses
  • Driving (estimated from the straight-line distance)

The train and bus types

  • KTX and SRT: high-speed trains. SRT trains leave from different stations (for example Suseo in Seoul) and are booked on the SRT site, while KTX is booked on KORAIL.
  • ITX and Mugunghwa: slower regular trains. In our data they usually cost less than KTX or SRT.
  • Express and intercity buses: leave from bus terminals, not train stations.

Good to know

  • Enter a departure time to see the arrival time. Enter the time you must arrive to see when to leave.
  • You only need one of the two. If you know neither, use Leave now.
  • All times are in Korea Standard Time (KST).
  • "Leave your starting point" is when you leave where you are now, so it already includes the time to reach the station or terminal. The first and last departures shown are for the station itself.
  • If no departure can make it, the card says so and shows the earliest possible arrival.
  • Use the time buttons above the results to move the time by 30 minutes or an hour and check the first and last departures.
  • High-speed trains (KTX / SRT) and buses also show a fare as a guide. We do not show fares for regular trains (ITX, Mugunghwa) because our source data did not match the official fares. Driving does not include tolls or fuel.

Where the data comes from

  • Trains: timetables from the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (TAGO train information)
  • Express buses: TAGO express bus timetables
  • Fares: adult fares in the same TAGO data (as of the collection date)
  • Driving: estimated from the straight-line distance

Please check

  • Check exact timetables and seats on the official booking sites.
  • This site does not make reservations or take payments.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know both the departure time and the arrival time?

No. Choose 'Departure time' to see the expected arrival range, or 'Arrival time' to see roughly when to leave to make it. If you know neither, choose 'Leave now'.

Why does the high-speed option start from a different station?

For each type of transport we pick the station or terminal pair with the shortest typical ride between the two cities, so the card can show another station in the same city, such as Suseo for SRT. The card names the exact stations (for example 'Suseo Station (SRT) โ†’ Busan Station'), so check which station you need before you leave.

Why are times shown as ranges?

Trains vary by stops and time of day, buses and cars vary with traffic, and the time to reach a station or terminal differs for everyone. So we show the fastest to the slowest case, and every assumption used is listed below the results.

Where does the data come from?

Trains come from the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (TAGO) train timetable, the airport railroad from Incheon International Airport Corporation's operating data, and express buses from the TAGO bus timetable. They summarize weekday and weekend timetables on the days we collected, so peak-season and holiday schedules can differ. Driving is an estimate from the straight-line distance, not a real route.

Does it show fares?

For high-speed trains (KTX / SRT) and buses we show the adult fare in the TAGO data as of the collection date, as a guide only. Seat class, discounts, special offers and time of day can make the price on the booking site different, so check it when you book. We do not show fares for regular trains (ITX, Mugunghwa) because the source data did not match the official fares, nor for the airport railroad, and driving does not include tolls or fuel.

Can I book tickets here?

No. This site does not make reservations or take payments. It only links to official sites such as KORAIL, SRT, the express bus booking site and the airport railroad. Check seats and exact departure times there.

Why are there no results for islands such as Jeju?

In this version we have no flight data, and you cannot drive to an island, so we do not show driving either. Check flights on the airline or Korea Airports Corporation websites.

Is what I enter saved?

The cities and times you enter are not saved on a server. If you create a share link, the choices are only placed in the link address. Site usage is counted only as totals, such as which city pairs are searched most.
